Golden Hour Family Portraits – Cluj Napoca, Romania

When Bridgette heard I was traveling back home this summer she reached out to me months in advance about booking her family session. By the time August rolled around, she was driving to meet me (a complete stranger to her) on the edge of a forest outside of Cluj Napoca alongside her beautiful family. We shot her family portraits all the way thru sunset and even watched a herd of horses trot down the hill by where we shot. I kept pinching myself. But alas, it was real.

At one point, as I was showing her the back of my camera, tears lined her eyes at how beautiful she looked. Every woman has a story for why she struggles to see the beauty in herself and hers was playing loudly in her mind. “I worked really hard to get to this place in my life. It was a lot to overcome. And to see beauty when I look at myself? It’s very emotional” she said to me. I told her “This is why I show the back of my camera to everyone. So everyone can see they’re beautiful – without editing, without effort, without retouching.” (if you want to get to know more about me and why I do what I do, check out this blog I wrote a while back)

On the way back to our beautiful hotel (stay tuned, it was INCREDIBLE) we kept talking about how lovely, kind and full of positive energy these three were. It always makes my job feel like a walk in the park when my clients are so willing to trust me and be vulnerable and allow me to really see them, who they really are.

Enjoy a few favorites from their family photoshoot! And if you’ve been thinking of booking a shoot with me, don’t hesitate to reach out!
