Getting to do portrait photography in Romania is literally a dream come true. But it all started the last time I came back to visit family.

Two years ago, when I visited Romania for the holidays, one of my followers on TikTok messaged me and asked me if I know Janna. “She’s the opposite of you – she’s an American living in Romania making content on here!” and they tagged her. Janna is very well known around Cluj and even appeared on a TV show. She’s so charming and entertaining, she’s even taken to stand up (and is crazy good)! You can follow her along on her YouTube Chanel.

But I digress. She responded, we chatted and like typical golden retriever Americans we decided that we, two complete strangers to one another, should meet up in Cluj. Well sure enough, after just a few minutes with this loud outgoing extrovert, I was like “OH I LIKE YOU”. And that’s pretty much it. We kept in touch over the years, followed one another online and encouraged one another! When I posted a few months ago that I was coming back to visit, we KNEW we were going to do a portrait photoshoot together. It all came together beautifully!

And if these photos don’t give it away – Janna is also a GODDAMN babe. Talk about an all American girl. Enjoy a few favorites from our shoot!

So grateful we could make this work, that we got to be silly girls and laugh, and catch up! We even posted a funny video over dinner. That’s that American multitasking magic. 🙂
