Neli Portraits – Zalau, Romania

While in Romania this past summer, I got to photograph so many beautiful families and ladies and ONE of those ladies was my niece, Neli and her daughter. I don’t get to see them often, but every time I travel back to see family, we do something to mark the season of life they’re in. Time is so fleeting and kids grow so fast and each chapter of your life together deserves to be documented. Make sure you, as a mom, exist in photos.

It was 20 minutes before sunset so PROPS to my sensor for making it look as if there was so much light LOL. Neli’s daughter is turning five this September and so WE HAD to document that as well during their shoot.

The next day Neli and I played around the house we have in Romania (the dreamiest light) and we got to create empowering beautiful feminine portraits!

I truly believe photography is the language of memories, and it’s so important that yours tell your story beautifully. Not just the grand moments that take your breath away, like weddings, but also those milestone years when sleep is sparse but love overflows, the little fleeting moments you want to remember forever — the way your babies looked, how your husband couldn’t take his eyes off you, how your family grows and changes, the year your baby goes to college… all of it passes in a blur.
