Cape Horn Estate Wedding
Philip and Lewanna got hitched at their church in Portland OR, then drove to Cape Horn Estate for their reception. I had the immense pleasure of second shooting this wedding alongside one of my besties, Brittany Forgette. It was our first time shooting together and 10/10 would do it again. In fact, two weeks later, we shot another wedding together. So dreams do come true!

Hanging out with the boys
I got to hang out with the groom and his gang of groomsmen and listen to the banter, the little inside jokes only they knew and watch them all wrap Philip in love and support as he reflected on what was to happen on this happy day. One thing that really impressed me was that I saw Philip taking notes throughout the day and later shared with all of us that he wrote down thoughts and feelings so he could remember and also to keep him grounded and present. I LOVE that he did that and also that he shared a few of his scribbles with us – A LOT was about how dang beautiful his soon to be wife was. What a sweetie.

After the first look….

And a quick prayer for just the two of them…

It was time to wrap up coffee hour….

And get hitched in front of all their loved ones!

Time for family!
Once all the family portraits were done, we got started on my favorite part of the day – shooting bridal portraits.

And then we were off towards Cape Horn Estate for Bridal Portraits and to check out the reception area! Boy was it a sight to behold!

All about the finishing touches
Floral (by Ivy Sage Floral) and decor only highlighted the natural beauty of the location. Because honestly with views like the ones at Cape Horn Estate, you don’t need much to make it feel magical. Next up we did some bridal party portraits and were surprised by a mariachi band!

And then, because the light was just heavenly we got to do some more portraits of the bride and groom on their own!

Spotlight on you
And the bride was looking like a friggin movie star so obviously we couldn’t help ourselves. My policy is to get ALL the photos in your wedding dress – you paid a lot of money, you dreamed of this day, you deserve to frolic and twirl and feel like a bombshell in it! And to have the photos to prove you were a babe 🙂

Next up it was time to party!

Lewanna and Philip had a beautiful first dance under sparklers

That’s a wrap!

My name is Irina, and I’m the photographer behind Irina Negrean Photography!
I started shooting more than 14 years ago, right after graduating from UW with a degree in Sociology.
I absolutely LOVE what I do. I’m so passionate about the work I get to create with my clients and the stories I get to tell — from beautiful wedding days, to moms booking family shoots so they can be in photos with their beautiful families, to teenagers excitedly booking senior photos, to business owners bravely showing up for updated headshots. These stories deserve to be told. Your stories.
