Gabby

I had the privilege to photograph this beautiful soul because her aunt, Danielle messaged me one day and asked to gift a session to her niece, adding, “I really want her to feel beautiful and know she is special and worth all the love in the world.” (PS. I read her message and cried. Ugly cried. Because the world needs more women like Danielle.)

That’s the thing about photography – it can reveal unseen truths, empower you, fill you with the knowledge that who you are right now IS AMAZING. This s*** is POWERFUL.

Here’s what Gabby had to say about her experience:

“Having my picture taken made me feel special. It made me feel beautiful and I hadn’t felt that way before. The best part of this experience was how funny Irina was. If someone was nervous about stepping in front of the camera, I would tell them her studio is a safe place and Irina wouldn’t judge you.”

Danielle: “Booking this photo shoot was important for Gabby because when she came to live with me, she had no photos. She didn’t have any memories caught by the camera to look back on. I wanted to book this to help build new memories and to help her see that she is beautiful and worth it. I was hoping Gabby would see how amazing she is. I wanted it to help strengthen her self confidence in hopes she would see how funny, cool, and unique she truly is! 

My favorite part was seeing how comfortable it was for her-she’s a natural. Also when I saw a photo that made me cry. It was like she was an angel. Just absolutely gorgeous. 

I wouldn’t change a thing about this experience. Gabby chose her clothes, chose how she wanted to be seen, how she wanted her hair and makeup. It was perfect.
